Welcome!

Looking for a new Hauptwerk Sample set? Start your search here!

Originally founded in 1994, Evensong Music originally started out as a way  to publish without the hassles of dealing with large publishing companies. Evensong distributes music for composers, but unlike a traditional publisher, we allow the composer to retain ownership of their music and we return one half of the net profit (what remains after printing costs) to the composer. We believe that composers should be able to have more say over what happens to their music!
Almost all of our organ publications have full-length audio demos available some have page previews, so you can both hear and see the music before purchasing.

In 2004, we started our Hauptwerk journey, and released our first sample set, a 3m Schantz based largely on the instrument at First Baptist Riverside, CA (with a few extra ranks from other sources).  When the newer advanced version of Hauptwerk came out in 2006, we released an update. In 2012 we released the dry version of the Madison Masonic Center Wangerin, a revised version in 2015, and the Wet version in early 2016. In January of 2017, we released the 1983 Schantz III/50 from St. Philip’s ELCA in Fridley, Minnesota.

In November of 2018, we merged with sample producers CLR Resources, and now carry their sets as well. Together, we’ve now released 3 new sample sets in 2020 – the Los Altos UMC 1852 Simmons, the Holy Trinity RC, Georgetown – 1925 E.M. Skinner, and the Pasadena Presbyterian Church 111-rk Aeolian-Skinner and 5 more so far in 2021 the Immanuel Presbyterian Church 1927 IV/62 EM Skinner, 1956 III/37 Schlicker, 1977 II/20 Hradetsky, the historic 1893 Steere at First Baptist, Owatonna, MN,  the St. Olaf Catholic 2001 67-rk Lively-Fulcher In 2022, the 1976 III/47 W. Zimmer & Sons in Long Beach, CA, the Goetz organ in Zhang Hall of Concordia University, Irvine CA, the 1998 Steiner-Reck, Op. 104 | III/60 in St. Lukes RC in McLean, VA,   a completely revised version of the Christ Cathedral (formerly Crystal Cathedral) Arboretum – 82 rank Aeolian-Skinner, a completely revised version of the St. Philip’s Schantz, and most recently in 2023 the IV/108 Aeolian-Skinner at University of Minnesota. We are committed to continue our sampling, and always have more projects in various stages of negotiation and production.
